If you don't care about the chinese writing in the booklet then buy it now!
By M. R. Thode (New Zealand)

I tread with a certain degree of skepticism when ordering this box set, particularly with regards to the issues surrounding language playback. However this set just rocks plain and simple. I haven't had any problems with audio. I have a crusty DVD player and when I insert a dvd the episodes play back in english without touching a thing. I have noticed that they will skip to chinese if I go to the menu however and select a different episode that way. However the review posted before this one shows you how to correctly change it back to english. If that still doesnt work then turn the DVD player off and start again, that worked for me. These things are a minor hassle but I think its worth it! 98 episodes and the movie plus some slick packaging, I'm totally satisfied.

It's what it says and more.
By J.Smith

If you are a transformers fan, then there is no reason you shouldn't own this. The set is completely stacked with a keychain, postcards, and an amazing book/cd case. For me the DVD's loaded up in English without even doing anything! The ONLY complaint I have is the DVD cases...they are just paper thin sleeves of plastic....not much of a problem though, because none are scratched. I may go buy some cheap sleeves for the discs.

Transformers G1 Series China Import PERFECTION!!
By The Docctor (Dallas TX)

I recently purchased this amazing product and I could not be more satisfied. Granted the accompanying book is in Chinese, but the episode descriptions, and text on the bonus features disc was all in English, and the audio form the episodes and the animated movie was all in English 5.1 channel surround sound :) . The menus were easy to navigate through and select an episode with no problems. The discs are all read correctly by my region 1 DVD player. If you love the Transformers and you love little extras in your DVD collections (keychain, cool artwork postcards, a Transformers shopping bag, and a neat book) then this is your product. I could not be more pleased with the content, extras, and especially the price point!

Excellent deal
By Patrick Walker

Compared to cost of individual seasons, plus the movie, this is an outstanding bargain. Don't worry about it shipping from China. The menu for the episodes is in both chinese and english. So you'll be able to get around. The shows on the dvds look and sound exactly how I remember them. I've read claims that there are added sound effects, but I don't really notice any. The episodes start with chinese subtitles that you can just turn off. If you need a Transformers fix, this is definatly worth it.

Best bang for your buck
By Harvey Henkelman (Brandon, FL USA)

Anybody who has ever desired owning copies of the original Transformers animated episodes will not want to miss out on this one. Get them all here in an attractive tin package, forget buying these piecemeal.

Awesome Set
By Michael Lynn (Abbeville, Alabama USA)

This is a really good product to own if you are a fan of transformers like me. It is even better than the American box set releases, because of having to buy all the volumes separate, you get every G1 episode including the movie with this one box. Oh, and the metal box is awesome by the way. If I have one grip with this box set, it is that the discs comes in little plastic bags, that do not protect the discs from being scratched so I had to take a point off for that. They should have made it like the holders in the superman ultimate collection box set in my opinion. Do not be scared thinking it will be in Chinese with English subtitles because this box set do have an English Dubbed soundtrack with the original English voice actors. All-in-all this set is still highly worth owning.

Great set at a cheaper price than anything we could expect stateside for a while
By Wiseguy 945 (Omaha, NE)

This set is an official transformers release from china, not a bootleg. yes, it is unfortunate that the Book is mandarin chinese, and takes time getting use to the menus for a while, but Hey, I can tell you now, Sony/BMG may eventually release a complete G1 set, but it won't be until after they try and squeeze every penny out of us by doing the same thing that Rhino did, split the collection into pieces and sell them for $30-$40 each set, and then do a George Lukas and release it in about 2-3 years from now as a G1 Box set, still expensive, but cheaper than each part seperately. Well, while many may wait, I will be watching quality edition for a fraction of the cost for the 20th time. Yes the menu language is chinese and takes a bit to figure out, but classic english voices are used on the soundtracks, so you don't loose out on that.

Awesome Collection
By Drew Pasion (san Jose,CA,USA)

As most people that consider themselves Transformers fans, I'm more of a fan of the Generation 1. Yes, I was ticked off that they killed Optimus Prime in the movie, but they redeemed themselves by bringing Optimus back in later episodes. So in this Compiliation you get everything, the whole evolution of the Transformers G1 to the Movie itself. The picture and sound are great, digitaly remastered. Also this comes with a key chain, which is a neat little trinket, and some postcard artwork. I was very satisisfied with this set. The scene selection menu takes a little getting used to, but other than that, for all 98 episode plus the Movie, you can't go wrong.

Awsome Box Set
By J. Jackson (Navarre, FL)

Ok, just got this awsome box set on Monday...and its very very good. Some people might get turned off by the Chinese Text but I've had no problems navigating through the menues. I mostly watch my DVDs on my XBOX 360/XBOX and it already plays in English. The picture very bright and colorful..this is NOT A BOOTLEG. This is as good as the other Transformers box sets you've seen but a lot CHEAPER!!! Get this NOW..very good.
